Gametophyte and sporophyte of a moss

Dominican amber is a fossil resin of plant origin that comes from the legume Hymenaea protera, dated between 25 and 40 million years old.

Dominican amber differs from Baltic amber by being more transparent, and by having a greater number of fossil remains.

This moss has a "gamete-carrying" gametophyte, which differs in false roots, false stem and false leaves. In the presence of water, on the gametophyte grows a sporophyte formed by a filament and a sporiferous capsule.

It is common to find the moss gametophyte, what is very rare is to find it with the sporophyte, which only appears during the reproductive season.
