Echinorhinus is a genus that currently groups two living species of sharks that live in temperate and tropical seas between 100 and 900 meters deep. It generally lives near the bottom and is known to feed on fish and marine invertebrates such as crabs, octopuses and squid. These sharks are part of a very particular lineage, characterized by presenting bone spines scattered irregularly over the skin of its body y jaws with complex teeth, whose shape is very different to that of other sharks.
