This trilobite Kettneraspis It comes from the world famous "Red Cliff" site in Hamar Laghdad. The red coloring of this trilobite is due to the high iron levels in his exoskeleton, which is permeated by fine pores that favor the silicification process and, consequently, coloration. However, the eyes of the phacopids from this particular site, are sometimes green color. The lenses of trilobites were unique ocular lenses made of crystalline calcite, have a high magnesium content, and lack pore channels.
Hamar Laghdad with about forty lower to upper Devonian mounds, arranged over a distance of 7 km following an E-W direction, were exposed by the erosion of the marl-limestone series in terms of their sedimentary cover. The carbonate mounds are accumulations of calcareous mud y fossils in the form of asymmetrical cones with barely visible stratification.
