Fossil resin of plant origin that comes from legumes Hymenaea protera.
Blue amber is little known due to its rarity and acquires its color due to the presence of aromatic hydrocarbons specific in their organic composition, such as those of the perylene type, which absorb ultraviolet light and emit a visible blue fluorescence.
Under artificial light, blue amber appears like ordinary amber, but under sunlight it has an intense fluorescent blue coloration. When held against the sun it will appear as ordinary amber, and under ultraviolet light it will present a brilliant milky blue color.
