Scyphocrinites was a non-sessile, free-swimming crinoid. It presented a lobolito or float, divided into chambers, this structure facilitated the movement of the animal, thus contributing to its great geographical extension. From the lobolito a long cylindrical stem begins, crossed by a canaliculus with a pentagonal section, and at its end a piriform calyx develops, formed by a large number of plates, the surface of which has a radial ornamentation. In each radius, two arms of the same size grow, branching dichotomously several times.
In this piece all the components of the crinoid are represented, on the left side of the piece is the lobolito.
