Assilina is a protozoon, that is, a unicellular being. This Foraminifera presents fine reticulated and anastomosed pseudopodia that serve for its locomotion, nutrition and construction of the shell that surrounds it. This shell is calcareous and has numerous chambers connected to each other by small openings called foramina.
