Family Merlucciidae

The Merlucciidae Family is made up of fish benthopelagic, which live at a preferential maximum depth of 500 m: planktivores and piscivores. Merlucciidae has a feeding association with the pelagic zone (daily vertical migration). In the studies carried out, the result was that the depth of the paleoenvironment of the Bahía Inglesa Formation ranged between 50-500 m deep.
