Plagiolophus It is an extinct genus belonging to the paleotherid family, they are herbivorous perissodactyl mammals related to tapirs and rhinoceroses, probably ancestors of horses. They are animals that lived in the Northern Hemisphere 60 to 45 million years ago. Its size reaches from 20 to 75 cm. It fed on soft leaves and berries. Its habitat was possibly dense forests.
