Dominican amber differs from Baltic amber by being more transparent, and by having a greater number of fossil remains.
This piece contains a semi-feather. The semi-feathers are found below the contour feathers and their main purpose is insulation. Thanks to them, the bird can protect itself from low temperatures and direct sunlight.
